What is the Horizons of Science: Forum of Diploma Thesis conference?

The Horizons of Science: Forum of Diploma Thesis is the student conferences having been organised annually since 2009.

The aims of the conference are:
  • developing the professional and academic career of students participating in the conference,
  • improving competences of students participating in the conference,
  • promotion of organising departments.
During the conference students present the results of their research in a form of speeches and posters. The strong emphasis is on the interaction between the students and entrepreneurs. The best students have an opportunity to win very attractive prizes (material prize as well as practices and apprenticeship) sponsored by the organising departments and employers who intend to fund the prize.

Why are we distinguishing?

Horizons of Science: Forum of Diploma Thesis is a platform of communication for meeting of representatives of industry, students and research workers of the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Physics Astronomy and Applied Computer Science or the Faculty of Biochemistry. It makes an opportunity to cooperation by getting to know the current research subject matter of organising departments and the future graduated students.

During the conference results of research from different branches of science like chemistry, physics, astronomy, computer science, material engineering and environmental protection will be presented. That is why spending on the conference one day makes an opportunity to get to know a whole range of interest of organising departments.

The strong emphasis is on presentation, not only the research results, but also a profile of the Jagiellonian University graduate and other people who are making crucial decisions about their career development.
